On a national basic 54% of Nigerians have access to “improved drinking water sources” (as at 1999, an increase from the 1995 level of 50%), but this is skewed in favour of urban areas. While 71% of urban population (as at 1999 compared to the 1995 figure of 80%) has access improved water.
Only 45% of the rural population uses adequate sanitation facilities overall. Again while 66% of the urban population uses adequate sanitation facilities only 45% of rural people use it.
WEIN NIGERIA through a programme we called WASH " Water Provision Sanitation and Hygiene", we seek to Provide 150 boreholes and promote effective sanitation and hygiene in our project communities.
